Home Credit x Kadakareer Hackathon

I recently participated in the Home Credit x Kadakareer Hackathon, submitting my entry during the idea phase on December 7. While our team didn't make the Top 10 cut to present onsite at BGC Philippines on December 11, the experience itself was incredibly valuable.

The Experience

It was great to see Home Credit being so active in the tech community, organizing hackathons that challenge students and professionals to innovate. Working on the idea submission pushed me to think critically about fintech solutions and user needs.

I also want to highlight Kadakareer—it is such a welcoming platform for career starters. Their community and support make joining competitions like this much less intimidating.

Reflections & Moving Forward

To be honest, I felt a little bit sad that we didn't get selected for the Top 10 to represent our idea at BGC. It would have been an amazing opportunity to pitch live.

However, this setback has only fueled my motivation. Receiving the Certificate of Completion is proof of the effort we put in, but I know I can do better.

"Failure isn't the opposite of success; it's part of the success. I am going to study even harder to ensure I am fully prepared for the next hackathon."

I'm already analyzing where we can improve our pitching and technical approach so that next time, we won't just participate, we'll be ready to win.
