I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier
I had the honor of competing at RAITE 2025 (Regional Alliance of IT Excellence), a prestigious regional IT competition held at Sumacab Campus in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. The theme was "I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier," and our team focused on building sustainable and investable projects within the Base cryptocurrency network using Ohara AI.
This competition was a perfect opportunity to push my skills, collaborate with talented teammates, and explore the intersection of Web3, AI, and sustainable technology.
Event Details
- Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines
- October 17, 2025
- Competition Type: Cryptocurrency Base Network, Ohara AI, & Development
- Organizer: RAITE Regional Association
- My Role: Project Manager & Frontend Developer
The Challenge
The competition challenged teams to create innovative IT solutions that address real-world problems while demonstrating scalability and sustainability. Our team chose to focus on the intersection of three emerging technologies:
- Web3 & Blockchain: Building on the Base network for decentralized solutions.
- Artificial Intelligence: Using Ohara AI to automate and enhance decision-making.
- Sustainability: Ensuring our solution creates long-term value and is investable.
Our Project: Galactic Conquest
Our submission was Galactic Conquest, a Web3 idle mining crypto game built on the Base network. This wasn't just a game it was a complete economic system with:
Key Features
- Mine-to-Earn Mechanics: Players earn tokens by managing mining operations, creating real economic incentives.
- PvP Elements: Competitive gameplay that keeps players engaged.
- Smart Contract Economy: Sustainable tokenomics with decay mechanics and token sinks to prevent inflation.
- AI-Powered Features: Ohara AI was integrated to provide smart recommendations and dynamic difficulty adjustments.
- Mobile-Responsive Design: Accessible from any device, built with modern web technologies.
"The future of gaming isn't just about entertainment it's about creating sustainable economies where players can earn real value."
My Contributions
As Project Manager and Frontend Developer, I was responsible for:
Project Management
- Coordinating with the team to align on vision and goals.
- Breaking down the project into manageable tasks and timelines.
- Ensuring regular communication and addressing blockers quickly.
- Presenting the project to competition judges with clarity and confidence.
Frontend Development
- Designing and implementing the user interface with a focus on game UX.
- Building responsive layouts that work seamlessly on desktop and mobile.
- Integrating Web3 wallet connectivity (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet).
- Creating smooth animations and transitions to enhance the gaming experience.
Technical Stack
Our project was built with a modern tech stack designed for scalability and performance:
- Frontend: React.js with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS for responsive design
- Backend: Node.js with Express for API development
- Blockchain: Base network, Solidity smart contracts
- AI: Ohara AI for game intelligence and recommendations
- Deployment: Render for backend, Vercel for frontend
Challenges We Overcame
1. Complex Tokenomics Design
Creating an economic system that prevents inflation while remaining attractive to players was challenging. We implemented decay mechanisms and token sinks that required careful mathematical modeling.
2. Web3 Integration
Integrating blockchain connectivity and smart contracts into a fast-paced game required thorough testing and optimization to ensure smooth user experiences.
3. Time Constraints
With limited time, we had to prioritize features ruthlessly. We focused on the core gameplay loop and MVP features rather than trying to build everything at once.
What I Learned
1. Web3 is Accessible
While blockchain development seems intimidating, modern tools and libraries make it accessible. The Base network provides a great entry point for Web3 development with lower fees and faster transactions.
2. AI Adds Real Value
Integrating Ohara AI wasn't just a buzzword it genuinely improved the game by providing intelligent recommendations and dynamic difficulty scaling. AI can enhance any application if used thoughtfully.
3. Project Management Skills are Critical
In a competition environment with time pressure, the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and make quick decisions was as important as technical skills. This reinforced my goal to develop leadership capabilities.
4. Sustainability Matters
Building something technically impressive is one thing. Building something that creates long-term value and is economically sustainable is another. The judges valued the latter highly.
The Competition Experience
Standing on stage presenting our project to industry judges, other competitors, and the audience was exhilarating. The questions they asked pushed us to think deeper about our economic model and technical decisions.
Competing alongside other innovative teams from across the region was inspiring. The level of innovation on display demonstrated how vibrant the IT ecosystem is becoming in our region.
Outcomes and Recognition
While final placements will be announced soon, the real victory was building something innovative, working as a cohesive team, and receiving positive feedback from judges about our approach to combining Web3, AI, and gaming.
"Competitions aren't just about winning they're about pushing yourself, learning from others, and proving what you're capable of."
Moving Forward
RAITE 2025 reinforced that the future of technology is at the intersection of multiple domains. As a developer, staying current with Web3, AI, and other emerging technologies isn't optional it's essential for remaining relevant and competitive.
I'm grateful for this opportunity and excited about what comes next. Whether it's refining Galactic Conquest or starting on new projects, the skills and insights I gained at RAITE 2025 will serve me well in my career.
